Trust me, the 1.6L engine is not bulletproof as i have learnt. I have an na6 mx5 and driving home one night from work, the motor just lost power and died while making a loud ticking sound. Turns out some metal got loose, made a mess of the motor, but i am going to spend the money and fix it because they are the funnest cars to drive.

anybody have any idea what kind of roll bar this guy has, with the diagonal cross bar?

I'd gladly buy another if I didn't end up in the winter states all the time. They're definitely worth the buy, for the mpgs alone. Just, if you buy one, go pre '94. '94 and up came with this chassis stiffening bar that gets in the way of putting the top up or down. Although, you'll probably get a better handling ride out of the later versions.

My parents would kick me out of the house for running at night. I used to run half marathons, and trained only at night due to the humidity in S. Florida.
Everytime I got kicked out, I had to figure out how to fit 4 50gal. trashbags into the damn thing and still be comfy. It was so packed, the bags would push my shifter out of gear. I eventually got a '97 626 which was the worst car I ever owned. And I still ended up getting kicked out. Atleast I was comfortable.

haha thats the only problem, I'm just afraid my ego would take a serious hit.
Is there a bit of power on tap even N/A? It has the same amount at the crank as my Celica, but RWD...thats gotta be so much fun!
Why'd you end up getting rid of it?? |
