because a completely redone and custom car could cost upwards of $60,000. this project was meant to stay under $20,000 (whether it actually was or not, i don't know), so it is much cheaper than other projects and this car will keep up with anything else out there. plus you could skimp on some things if you were doing this project yourself

the 302 isnt nearly as heavy as a lot of other v8's out there. Plus the top end is all aluminum
